EL CAMPELLO TODAY

El Campello is a privileged location. Located in the heart of the Costa Blanca, just a stone’s throw from its major cities, just 10 kilometres from Alicante and 30 from Benidorm, it is a traditional fishing village which has known how to transform itself, without losing its roots, in to a first rate tourist town.

Its 23 kilometres of coast, the longest in the province of Alicante, are an oasis for the senses. Along this long stretch of seafront you will find golden-sand beaches such as those of Muchavista and Carrerlamar which give way to the peaceful coves appearing behind la Illeta: from the beaches of Morro Blanc to Carritxal. Beaches and coves, all of them ideal for water sports, which have achieved the blue flag awards as well as the ISO 14.001 certification for the quality of their waters, services and infrastructures

Just a stone’s throw away you’ll find mountains full of places to discover, such as la Lloma de Reixes, Les Puntes de Gosálvez or the Sierra del Xixí.

From among all of its delights, also worthy of mention is its rich heritage as it boasts one of the most important archaeological sites of the Mediterranean: the Illeta dels Banyets, where traces of the most important civilisations of the Mediterranean can be found. The two Watchtowers, declared Cultural Heritage Sites, recall the ancestral battles which we relive every year in the Moors and Christians fiestas. Many other places tell the story of our history, among them, the Villa Marco estate which, formed by a small palace with a modern layout, surrounded by an incredible array of gardens, is one of the town’s treasures.

With a population in excess of 24,000 inhabitants and 100,000 residents during the summer months, it still holds the tranquillity and delight of a traditional fishing village. Perhaps this clear demographic progress is due to the presence of one particular neighbour: The Sun. With an exceptional climate, El Campello enjoys more than 250 days of sun each year and an average temperature of 19 ºC.

Yellow sun, blue sea, red fiesta and green culture, all colours are, without a doubt, the basic ingredients for guaranteeing holidays which are full of fun and relaxation. El Campello is colourful.

In El Campello you will discover a unique way of savouring life, because El Campello is where the sea's favourite place to live.
